Summary

The article discusses the global trends in the rational and optimal use of mineral resources and current aspects of effective use of its individual types in business, the world's leading countries in the field of natural resources. Among them, according to the value of mineral resources in 2021. Also analyzed are the revenue reports of the 40 largest mining companies in the world 2019-2021, the ranking of the leading mining companies in 2021 by revenue, the net profit margin of the best mining companies in the world from 2002 to 2020, the forecast of prices of some mining products until 2025, as well as the demand for mineral resources, taking into account the main directions of optimal solution of critical challenges and effective development. It is proposed to produce minerals and metals responsibly, to use them safely in ethical business practices and to sustain other important global trends in order to promote sustainable economic growth in times and conditions of global crises.
